Have you ever gotten a sample of a fragrance in a magazine, or from a department store, and fallen head over heals in love with it? I have had a few instances where I thought that I had found the one perfume that I would use for years to come, but then another one comes along and I fall in love with that one again.

Let me take you on my perfume journey. When I was younger, I remember my mom using one specific fragrance, Elizabeth Arden Red Door. I didn't particularly like the smell, but I loved that I knew when my mom was around because I could smell her perfume. In my 20's I worked for a cosmetics store in Sandton, where I learnt so much about perfumes and how they are blended. We sold exclusive perfumes, and we were allowed to use one fragrance every day. It was a way to show off the sillage of the perfume to clients. Here I found my love for base notes of musk and top notes of rose.

The body of the Narciso Rodriguez Poudree is built around base notes of Vetiver and White Cedar, heart notes of Powdery Musk and pleasant top notes of White Bulgarian Rose and Jasmine. This perfume feels warm and inviting. Like putting on a warm cashmere sweater in winter. You feel luxurious and elegant. It is one of those perfumes you can see yourself wearing for years to come.

This is a powder perfume and evokes a memory of the elegance of the 60's. Granted that kind of smell is not for everyone but you can't deny that it is a beautiful and elegant perfume. When you think of finding your signature perfume, I have definitely found mine with Poudree.

The sillage of the perfume on me lasts the whole day. One of the only ones that truly last. Other perfumes seem to not like my skin and by mid day you can't tell I am wearing any perfume.

Poudree is available in 30 ml, 50 ml and 100 ml from either Foschini, Woolworth, Truworths or Edgars. Go and give this one a spritz, I can bet you will be pleasantly surprised.

Have you tried the Narciso Rodriguez Poudree? I would love to hear your thoughts about it.
