Sunday Reflections - Fate

Sunday, 18 November 2018

Do you believe in fate? Fate as in when you are meant to be with someone, life will always conspire to get you two together? I never believed in it fully until recently. Quick story time. I recently reconnected with my first crush I had at 14. Our dad's were friends and we hung out a lot. He was 5 years older than me and I lost my heart to him. We lost touch but he was always on my mind. So when we recently reconnected again and started chatting, I admitted my crush too him. To my surprise, we have hit it off and are going to see where things go.

A thought...

Fate works in mysterious ways. Lately I have been wondering why most of my relationships never work out. Is there something wrong with me? But I have realized that fate was showing me that I needed to wait for the one my heart really belonged too. That is why my other relationships didn't work and also why his didn't.

A piece of advice...

Do what is best for you. Don't let people who only bring negativity into your life, make you feel guilty for shutting them out. I don't care if it is family, parents or whoever else. Slam the door shut. Your mental well being is worth more than anything else. Be selfish!

Quote of the week...

The people who are meant to be in your life will always gravitate back towards you, no matter how far they wonder.

Song of the week...

You got me - Olivia Lane

This song is perfect for the place I am in at the moment.

You, you got me
When the pieces don't fall together
When you wish your best was better, baby
You, you got me

Right here by your side hanging on for the ride
When your dreams don't dream and the songs don't sing
And the grass ain't green and the ends don't meet
And the prayers you're sending up don't seem to reach
You got me

Lesson of the week...

Learn to be patient in love. Don't settle for the wrong one. Wait. Even if it means waiting a year or even more. Don't settle for anything less that what you deserve. Someone who will treasure your heart, someone who will call you beautiful and someone who wants to be with you.

Grateful for...

I am grateful the life I have. Yes there are times when I wish I could have this or that but life has brought me to the exact place I am meant to be. I am grateful for the people in my life who care about me and who want to be in my life without any ulterior motives. But most of all I am grateful for my son. My guiding light in everything I do.
