Sunday Reflections - Love & Friendship

Sunday, 4 November 2018

It has been a while since I have posted about my weekly reflections, so this is going to be more of a missing time reflection. So much has happened not only in the few months I was absent from my blog but also in the last week. One thing I learnt is you have to take one day at a time. You can’t burden yourself with the possibilities of tomorrow or the sorrows of yesterday. Focusing on today is the most important thing.

A thought...

Our time on this earth is limited. We might think we have the world of time but we honestly don’t. I rekindled a friendship with a friend I have know since I was 14 years old and I learnt that in the space of two years, he lost his Dad and his brother. I grew up with these guys and learning that his brother lost his life, while he leaves behind his two young children and a wife, breaks my heart. He was only a year older than me. Life is so short and we need to cherish the people in our lives who love us and who are there for us.

A piece of advice...

Rekindle friendships that matter to you. If you somehow lost touch with each other, make a conscious decision to connect again.  Friendships bring joy into our lives. Friends are something to be cherished in this world. Also, make new friends. Make friends with people who not the same age as you, people from a different culture.

Quote of the week...

“Softness is not weakness. It takes courage to stay delicate in a world this cruel.”
Beau Taplin

Song of the week...

Bazzi ft Camila Cabello ~ Beautiful

This song is absolutely “beautiful” as the name suggests. Bazzi has very quickly become my favorite singer. His voice is velvety smooth and he is easy on the eyes too.

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful angel
Love your imperfections every angle
Tomorrow comes and goes before you know
So I just had to let you know

The way that Gucci look on you, amazing
But nothing can compare to when you're naked
Now a Backwood and some Henny got you faded
You're saying you're the one for me, I need to face it

Lesson of the week...

Life is hard. No matter what you see on social media, we are all battling an internal battle. Kindness costs absolutely nothing, and can change someone’s day. If someone looks nice, tell them. It takes nothing away from you. As Cinderella’s mom said, “Be Kind and have Courage”.

Grateful for…

I am grateful for the all the special people in my life. This year I have met a few new people and some have let me down but others have stayed and showed me that there are still come genuine people out there. I am grateful for my friends who although we don’t talk every day, I can still message and it was like no time has passed. I am grateful for new friends who have come to be a guiding light in my life. But most of all I am grateful for my son, my dad and my aunt and cousin in New Zealand.
